Emma Miles 

Emma is a senior lawyer who specialises in the following areas:
 
  • Relationship Property (Separations)
  • Workplace Investigations
  • Mediation
Emma is skilled in handling sensitive matters and credits her success in resolving even the most complex disputes to her background in psychology and mature perspective. She can assist in any matter involving relationships, whether at the onset, or if they are beginning to or have broken down completely (whether in the workplace or a separation).
 

Emma spent many years as a Barrister representing clients in Court, particularly during separations. Now, she prefers Dispute Resolution, particularly when there is an ongoing relationship (such as employment or co-parenting). To support this, Emma is also a trained Mediator and Collaborative Lawyer.

Emma was born in Bristol, England, before moving to Bath as a teenager. After school she initially studied Psychology and Law for two years before moving on to a BSc in Psychology at Bath Spa University. She relocated to New Zealand in 2000 and completed her LL.B law degree at the University of Waikato in 2011.

Emma has developed, owned and operated, multiple successful businesses over the past 30 years both in the UK and NZ. 

Outside of work, Emma enjoys time with family: her daughter, Kayla, and grandsons who are suddenly 15 and 17. She is a lifetime animal lover, having rescued many different types over the years, but now chooses a simpler life of Ragdoll cats, a miniature Goldendoodle called Morrissey (after the singer) and a Spoodle with selective hearing called Ophelia.

Kayla Miles

 

Kayla handles financial and administrative tasks behind the scenes.

Kayla is in her final year of study towards an LL.B in Law. With over ten years of experience in Administrative and Small Business Management, she also owns and operates several small businesses.

Outside of work, Kayla spends time with her partner and their four children, aged between 13 and 19.

Mo Bell

Mo is a legal administrator. She has previous experience in the management of small business finances, customer service, and over five years holding office roles within volunteer positions. Mo is often the friendly voice at the end of the phone.

Community engagement is important to Mo. In her spare time she coaches her children’s sports teams, and volunteers within their schools.  She is a member of the Board of Trustees at her youngest child’s school.
